Coen Brothers Return

Those who are fans of the Coen Brothers, known for "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" and "The Big Lebowski" fame, will be glad to hear that they are returning to make two films under Focus Features. The first is called "A Serious Man" which is reported to be a dark comedy. The second has yet to be announced. The Coen Brothers will both write and direct the films.
I can't say I'm an enormous fan of these guys, but I enjoy some of their movies. "The Big Lebowski" is their masterpiece , but "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" is a film I've always considered to be overrated trash. But they recovered with the funny "Intolerable Cruelty".
The next movie from the Coen Brothers before they begin work on "A Serious Man" will be "No Country For Old Men", due out this fall. I may or may not look in to it.

Tarantino's Studio Keeps on "Grinding" - "Hell Bike"

I suppose this is due to Tarantino still being obsessed with the "Grindhouse" concept; Tarantino's studio will be producing the grindhouse-like feature, "Hell Bike". It will be directed by Larry Bishop (who played Larry Gomez in "Kill Bill: Vol. 2") who also wrote the screenplay. The film is slated for release, summer 2008.
I don't know who this Larry Bishop guy is, but I hope this doesn't turn out to be a "Ghost Rider 2". Apparently it's a throwback to old biker movies-- So why isn't Tarantino directing? Who knows.

Hanks to Return to Codebreaking

Tom Hanks will be returning as Robert Langdon in something of a prequel to "The Da Vinci Code" called "Angels and Demons". "Angels and Demons" is a 2000 Dan Brown novel about an "evil" Pope trying to destroy the Vatican with an...anti-matter bomb? Of course the Illuminati are behind this ridiculous plot and Langdon is thrown in to action to stop them.
Well it sounds no more ludicrus than "The Da Vinci Code", so why not? No word on whether or not Ron Howard will direct.

TRAILER - "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"

Follow up to the Academy Award nominated "Elizabeth", this trailer is one of the most impressive I've seen in awhile. The acting in this minute and a half alone is enough to get my butt in the seat to see this film. Plus, the first was a good movie too. The sets and costumes look amazing...wow. Just, wow. Take a look!

TRAILER - "Spider-Man 3" - Venom TV spot

Hype for the thrid film in the now legendary Spider-Man series is growing and the TV spots are very exciting. Most of the TV spots consist of character centric themes. There's a Black Suit Spider-Man TV spot, a New Goblin TV spot...etc... The most popular is, of course, the Venom centric TV spot. So to exemplify these previews, below is the Venom TV spot. Very awesome! Can't wait to see this bad boy in action. Enjoy:

Spider-Man 4...5 and 6...

Is Sony jumping the gun a bit. Apparently Sam Raimi has confirmed that Sony Pictures plans on doing Spider-Man 4, 5 and 6... No word yet on if Raimi will be doing them. He's been quoted saying that if there's a good story to tell he'll do it and that it would be very difficult to say goodbye to Spider-Man.
On top of that Raimi was offered the job to do "The Hobbit", which get in the way of plans for a fourth Spider-Man.
As of right now I'll believe it when I see it. This just sounds like a lot of hype and confidence in the new movie.

A Whole Different HULK Pt. 2

Apparently Arad exploded recently about people making way too big of a deal about the Hulk possibly being grey. Kind of funny really.

"It was a joke!" Arad laughed. "Here's what it was. There were 30 people around a table, and they said 'is there going to be a grey Hulk?' And I was thinking about it and I said, 'who knows?' It was one of those moments. I had just got back from Japan and I was trying to talk about Spider-Man and this guy was pushing me on The Hulk so I thought I'll be coy. I don't know what colour it is, and all of a sudden it's headline news. It's a different shade of green, but the colour is not like the old Hulk. And no, there's no grey Hulk."

Welp. That's that. A darker Hulk would probably be of benefit. Ang Lee's Hulk looked way too bright green to fit in with its surroundings.
