Well, Karl Urban will be billed in a starring role once again. Will it be a flop? Demian Lichtenstein, director of "3000 Miles to Graceland," will be directing the movie entitled "Relentless." It will also have the 3-D component added.
“I am fascinated with the new 3-D technology and know that this script is a perfect match to take advantage of the unlimited potential of what 3-D can do,” Lichtenstein said. “After being mentored by James Cameron on the set of his new 3-D film ‘Avatar,’ I knew that 3-D movies are no longer just a fad. It is the future of filmmaking.”
The script is a perfect match? The movie's storyline focuses on four extreme sports pros that crash in the Amazon and use their "skills" to survive some cliche-ridden, angry natives. Sounds like the 3-D spectacle of the year... Not.
With that said, I do want this film to be good and I do want to like it. Reason? Karl Urban. I've always felt the man has talent that has yet to be tapped. If he would somehow get better scripts and stay away from the "Doom," "Riddick" and "Pathfinder" crap he's been doing, maybe he'd finally grow as an actor.
Meanwhile, these 3-D projects are gaining speed... Take that news as you may, but I don't really care for this whole 3-D movement. It just screams, "I'm a gimmick!" (Which it is...)
