Rising action star Jason Statham has signed on to star in the remake ("GASP!" Another?) "Death Race". The original was called "Death Race 2000" and starred Sylvester Stallon. It was considered a cult classic and was directed by b-movie director Roger Corman. The film is about a superviolent race to the death in which the President of a corrupt America looks over. Yeah...sounds...great.
