Sony has announced that James Vanderbilt is attatched to write the next sequel in the "Spider-Man" series. For those who are not fimiliar with his work, go see "Zodiac" to understand this is a very good thing. If there's one problem I've always had about the Spider-Man movies, it's the writing. (Although I suppose the cheesy writing is part of their darling charm.) Even still, Vanderbilt is a much welcomed edition to the franchise.
Sony plans on having the next Spider-Man film out by 2009. This might be hard if the writer's strike goes in affect, and word on the street says it could be as early as tommorow. We'll see how this pans out.
