TRAILER - How To Lose Friends & Alienate People

Poor quality trailer of the new Simon Pegg film due in the UK next fall. Squint to watch it. And yes, that is Jeff Bridges as his "boss." I'll keep looking for a better quality trailer to post.

"The Happening" Poster

The teaser poster for M. Night's newest film, "The Happening" has been released. Click to enlarge:

I've made no secret about how I think the quality of M. Night's films have been dipping. However, he made three fabulous films in a row with genius characters and suspence. I always try to remind myself of that and "The Happening" has that vibe his last two films did not-- The poster is a good example. It has a very errie, "Signs" type of feel to it. I hope for much better out of this next flick.

Simon Pegg "Loses Friends"

Simon Pegg, the amazing star of "Shaun of the Dead" and, one of my favorite films, "Hott Fuzz," gives us more laughs in the upcoming "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People."
The film centers on Sidney Young (Simon Pegg) who hates the artificial world of celeberties and tries to attack it as much as possible in a magazine he works for. He later gets a job at a New York magazine where he finds great success and relationships that greatly affect his life.

Simon Pegg stars with an all-star cast that includes Kirsten Dunst, Jeff Bridges, Megan Fox and Gillian Anderson. The film is based on Toby Young's book of the same name and is set to be released October 3, 2008 in the UK. No mention yet of an American release date, but, like Pegg's films before this, I'm sure it will find its way over to the States.

I would watch Simon Pegg take nap for two hours, so I'm all for this. Anything he does is far more watchable than about 90% of the comedies out there.

First "Punisher: War Zone" Picture

Ray Stevenson is finally seen in his Frank Castle gear for "The Punisher: War Zone." It's not much, and frankly, I miss Thomas Jane. Not that the first "Punisher" was a superb film, but Thomas Jane is what made it a pretty decent flick. I'm not too excited about this sequel, but like most movies I post about on this blog I'll give it a chance.

TRAILER - Speed Racer

Man, it's been "Speed Racer" week in movie news. The "Speed Racer" trailer has revealed some really fun(ny) looking results. I now have a lot of excitment for this movie. Looks spot on with the cartoon and a lot of fun. Enjoy:

Chances are this link will be taken down soon. Let me know if/when it does and I'll look for another link.

New Terminator 4 Details

Director McG has revealed some details regarding the next Terminator movie:

The film is set to begin production this March in either Budapest and/or Australia. Christian Bale IS the star of the movie as John Conner, and it will center on him fighting the war against the machines. A completely new character that's "not necessarily" a machine or terminator will be stepping in to Arnold's usual role. It is unclear whether or not this character will be an enemy or friend, but it is a major supporting role to Bale. And Arnold "might" make a small cameo in the film.

"Speed Racer" Revealed!

New pictures have been released of the upcoming "Speed Racer." This should give people an idea of what to expect out of the Wachowski's family film. Click to enlarge:

Looks fun. Summer next year.

Chichi Cast in "Dragonball Z"

Model Jamie Chung will be playing Chichi, Goku's one true love, and later wife, in the live action Dragonball Z.
Chung has done small parts on TV in popular shows such as ER and CSI.
Well, I can't say she doesn't look the part, but I never thought of Chichi as "hot." Not that it's a bad change; no complaints and I'm sure many guys out there will say the same.

Lost's Matthew Fox on "Speed Racer"

An ET (Entertainment Tonight) exclusive has revealed Fox's look as Racer X in the live action "Speed Racer" movie coming to theaters next summer. Take a look:

I'm very interested in this movie just to see how it will turn out. I like the Wachowski Brothers and faith in them-- The characters look identical as far as the cheesy costumes, hair styles and sets go. It looks like a fun romp.
The movie is aiming for a G rating, and rightfully so. It's said to be the most highly anticipated family film in awhile. Lets see if they pull it off!

Batman Teaser Poster

A new "The Dark Knight" teaser poster has been released. Click to enlarge:

Many people are complaining that this teaser, mimicing the Joker's look. has been released too late since Ledger's appearence as the Joker is no longer a secret. I think for the general public (the one's who are not nerds that spend enough time on the internet to find an obscure "blogger" movie blog with lots of typos) it is very effective. I like the poster, but I can't wait to see the next one. Very errie.

Iron Man Looking Badass

A new, high quality picture of Iron Man has been unleashed. Click to enlarge:

The 2008, summer blockbuster has some pretty high expectations and is looking pretty fun. Lets hope it lives up to the hype. Great picture.

Bale is John Conner for Terminator 4

I've been avoiding putting up a lot of news about this movie because I think the simple fact I'm reading "Terminator 4" on websites is absurd. On the other hand the first decent piece of news about the film has recently been announced for "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." (The actual title of the film-- For now.) Christian Bale will be playing the part of John Conner.

Conner was previously played by Nick Stahl in "Terminator 3" and originally by Edward Furlong in "Terminator 2." Now Bale will take on the role of the hero in the fourth Terminator installment directed by McG. Who is McG you ask? The director of both "Charlie's Angels" flicks and a host of TV and direct to video stuff.

While I'm glad Bale is a part of this, I have to ask: Why? This movie is shaping to become fluff and he's already well established-- Why this? One can only pray there will be more good to this movie than Bale.

"The Dark Knight" Joker and Batman

Some rather cool modeled photos, mostly of Ledger's Joker, have arrived. This is one of the best shots of the new batsuit online as well. (I continue to have mixed feelings about the new suit, but it continues to grow on me with each picture.) Meanwhile Ledger's Joker looks like he's going to be rather insane. I look forward to his take on the legendary villain. Click to enlarge:
