Eckhart is Two-Face in "The Dark Knight"

Aaron Eckhart ("Thank You for Smoking") will be playing district attorny Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face, one Batman's most famous foes, in the upcoming sequel to "Batman Begins". He probably won't be the actual "Two-Face" in this film, but his character will more than likely be the backdrop for a thrid film. Good casting right there! Fine role for an actor like him. Nolan sure knows how to pick'em.

Del Toro and Tarzan?

Guillermo Del Tor ("Hellboy", "Pan's Labyrinth") has a lot on his place. Right now his next to films are "Hellboy: The Golden Army" next year and "3993" in 2009 (a ghost story set in 1990s Spain with a connection to the Spanish Civil War), so it seems kind of ridiculous to report this. But it's del Toro and he's amazing. In any case, in post-2009 he would like to pull out his own version of Tarzan.
Obviously the film wouldn't be family oriented like Disney had had, del Toro said he wanted to make something, "edgy ... I want to portray how this guy becomes the toughest animal in the jungle."
Right now its all in talks, but for a movie not being made for awhile they're sure are planning ahead. Right now John Collee is set to write it and a producer for the film is in place as well. If you're excited about this at all sit back, you've got quite a wait ahead of you. I can't wait for his nex two movies though!

James Cameron Reveals "Avatar" Cast!

Jame's Cameron revealed his cast for his 2009 sci-fi epic, "Avatar". The cast includes:

Wes Studi ("Last of the Mohicans", "Dances with Wolves", "The Doors")
Sigourney Weaver (YES! Good choice!)
Peter Mensah ("Tears of the Sun", 'Hidalgo")
Joel David Moore ("Spiral")
C.C.H. Pounder
Laz Alonso ("Stomp the Yard", "Jarhead")

I'm excited about the first two, but I could kind of care less about the others. I'm sure they'll get the job done though. Cameron has a nack for getting out some of the best performances from unknown actors. And Weaver in a sci-fi film with Cameron again? Hell yes! Couldn't be better news.

"Rambo IV" - I'm Not Kidding Either...

For some, this may be old news. I suppose I remember hearing rumors about it, but I always assumed nothing would come of it. But it's true. Someone really needs to stop all these ridiculous sequels to films around two decades old.
Stallone will be returning as the character as well as directing. Yeah, "Rocky Balboa" was a pretty good movie I'll admit...but he's pushing his luck here. Filming starts on Feb. 23 and will be aiming for a 2008 release.
I hope I eat my words but...wow....just....wow....

Venom Design Revealed Further at Toy Fair

Well, I think we have a pretty good idea of what this creature is going to look at. The two statues below were pictures taken at the 2007 Toy Fair by Superherohype. The design is pretty awesome. He's very much buff and still has the white logo on his chest. Everything looks great! Can't wait to see him on screen.

DiCaprio Takes on Enron

Warner Bros. has made a deal with Leonardo DiCaprio to star in the film, "Conspiracy of Fools", a story about the collapse of Enron in 2001. DiCaprio will star as new worker for the company who ends up figuring out the big secret behind it all.
I find the story mildly interesting, but the big seller right now is DiCaprio. He's an actor who has shot the top as one of Hollywood's best actors-- He shoudl win the Academy Award for both "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond" as far as I'm concerned. (He's nominated for "Blood Diamond") Not much is known about this film excpet that the script is in the works, so it's a little ways off.

"Ocean's 13" Trailer - They're Back!

And guess who they're teaming up with this time? Fun little teaser trailer, it's enough to get me excited. June 8 people!

I'll be there.

"The Zero"

The story struck my interest. Warner's independent film branch has hired German Directer Christian Alvart to direct the film, "The Zero".
Based on a satirical political novel, "The Zero" centers around a man who has constant memory lapses and is put to work by a rather sketchy industry to study and analyze all the scraps of paper blown around the city the day of 9/11. Eventually he finds himself in the midst of a corrupt government plot.
Sounds kind of cool, I'm wondering how 'satirical' it could be. Hopfully not enough to hurt what sounds like a pretty interesting story-line, but then again I have not read the book. More on "The Zero" as it comes.

Tarantino/Rodriguez Team-Up: Grindhouse Trailer

Trailer to a project by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez called "Grindhouse", which features a double feature-- "Planet Terror" by Rodriguez and "Death Proof" by Tarantino. It's so over the top and hysterical looking. I love how ridiculous this movie looks. Grindhouse's insanity arrives April 6.

Harry Potter 6 Sets Being Built

According to Newsweek, Academy Award Winner Stuart Craig is heading the art direction for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". Currently he's in the midst of designing new sets which include the, drum roll, astronomy tower. Those of you who have read the book or felt the need to spoil yourself know what happens there:

"It has to be impressive and beautiful and poignant," Craig says. "So I'm looking forward to doing that." Craig is also quite excited for the final book in the series as well, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," coming out in July a week after "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix" comes to theatre.
"I can't wait," he says. "We need to know which sets to retain for the last film."
