Captain Christopher Pike of the Starship Enterprise

Well, I guess that confirms that Captain Pike is in the new Star Trek film. Bruce Greenwood ("I, Robot" "Hollywood Homicide") will be playing the first captain of the Enterprise in J.J. Abrams' new Star Trek flick.
Little by little, more is being revealed for the movie arriving in theaters next November.

this is just a bad bad idea. not for Pike, really, but the whole crew meeting in Starfleet, when every ST fan knows (or should) that everyone, save Chekov, was already on the ship when Kirk came on, and he brought Bones with him.

and ST fans are far more numerous and complainy than other genre fans (such as Godzilla fans).

i've no interest in seeing this.

David (wonders why they would make a movie about Pike, since they could have several of the faves on- Spock (yelling!), Uhura, Scotty- at least a few.

None of the film takes place in Starfleet, David. This was mentioned... awhile ago. I think I'm the second person to notify you of this. ;-)

quiet you! ;) you can't even spell "Captain"! but thanks for the info, i still think a Pike series would be better.
