Tom Cruise is set to play the lead role in Bryan Singer's ("X-Men", "X2", "The Usual Suspects", "Superman Returns") World War 2 film, which is currently untitled.The WWII "thriller" is based on true events about German generals planning to assassinate Hitler. Production begins this summer. No release date is yet given.
The story sounds really engaging and Bryan Singer proved himself to be an excellent thriller director with "The Usual Suspects"-- It's good he's breaking away from his comic book superhero films for a little bit. But Cruise as a German? We'll see.
