Imagi Studios Shows "Gatchaman" and "Astro Boy" Art

Imagi Studios, the company responsible for the current "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film, will be bringing to classic japanese anime to the CGI realm in America.

Below are pre-production art from "Gatchaman". Click to see them larger.

And the one teaser of "Astro Boy". Click to see it larger.

"Gatchaman" will be directed by Kevin Munroe. The anime told the story of 5 young superheros who fought against the forces of Galactor. The heros would battle giant mosnters and so on in order to keep Galactor from taking Earth's natural resources.

"Astro Boy" takes place in the future and is about a robot built to look like a little boy. Astro Boy comes with great powers but has trouble finding his place among "real" people (you can see where this is going.)

"Gatchaman" is due out in theaters in 2008 and "Astro Boy" in 2009.
